Students from the Civil Aviation Cabin Services Program at the Vocational School of Social Sciences participated in a technical field trip to Muş Alparslan Airport, where they received hands-on training. During the event held on Monday, April 29, 2024—organized by Head of the Transportation Services Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Okan Türk, Civil Aviation Cabin Services Program Head Neslihan Demirel, and Lecturer Aykut Kaan Eren—students gained firsthand experience with industry practices.
Students received practical training across four different units. The initial training was conducted by HAVAŞ (Airport Ground Handling Co.) Station Chief Bekir İnci and airport staff members who are also alumni of the program: Rozerin Tutuş, Elif Karayel, and Zeynep Güven. Here, the services provided by HAVAŞ were explained to the students in detail. The training covered critical areas such as passenger services, operations, and ramp departments, and introduced the students to ground handling equipment.
Subsequently, guided by DHMİ (General Directorate of State Airports Authority) Apron Officer Haydar Ali Kılıç, the students visited the DHMİ hangar, where the institution's efforts regarding snow removal and wildlife control were explained in detail. Following the hangar tour, the activities of the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Center and the vehicles used there were introduced.
At the conclusion of the training, the students visited the control tower—a key technical unit—where tower personnel answered their questions and provided information on tower operations. Additionally, the students had the opportunity to watch the landing of the Ankara-Muş flight (VF4242) from the tower. Participating students also had the chance to converse with alumni working as staff members and listen to their experiences.

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özalper for supporting the organization of the training; she also extended her thanks to Airport Manager Saim Şentürk, THY Muş Station Manager Mesut Aybakan—who shared his knowledge and experience with the students during the visit—Havaş Station Chief Bekir İnci, and DHMİ Apron Officer Haydar Ali Kılıç, who accompanied the students throughout the visit.
