Acting with a sense of social responsibility, second-year students from our university's Vocational School of Social Sciences Culinary Arts Program organized an event titled "You Make a Cookie, Too" at Muş Central Eğirmeç Primary School.
This event aimed not only to provide delicious snacks but also to foster solidarity and communication among the students. The students gathered in an atmosphere filled with warmth and affection, joined by Assistant Directors of the Vocational School of Social Sciences Dr. Ahmet Dündar and Lecturer Abdullah Demir, as well as Head of the Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering Services Department Lecturer Mehmet Gül and Head of the GİTEM Department Lecturer Mehmet Demirel.
During the event, cookies and cakes—carefully prepared by Lecturer Mehmet Gül and the second-year Culinary Arts students—were served to the pupils of Eğirmeç Primary School. These treats created unforgettable memories through both their delicious taste and the lasting impression they left on everyone's hearts.
Throughout the event, engaging activities and games were organized for the Culinary Arts students and the young pupils to enjoy together. Children decorated cookies with icing pens, interacting with one another while exploring their own creativity. The event served not only as a source of fun but also as an opportunity for the children to improve their manual dexterity and expand their imaginations.
Speaking at the conclusion of the program, Dr. Ahmet Dündar, Acting Director of the Vocational School of Social Sciences, expressed his pleasure in meeting the young students. He thanked everyone who provided this opportunity and contributed to the successful realization of the event. Dr. Dündar specifically acknowledged our Rector, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican expressed his gratitude for their contributions and thanked Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özalper (Director of the Vocational School of Social Sciences); Lecturer Mehmet Gül (Head of the Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering Services Department), who put great effort into the event and organized it; Deputy Director Lecturer Abdullah Demir; Lecturer Mehmet Demirel (Head of the Gitem Department); and the students. He also extended his thanks to Ayfer Kaçar (Principal of Eğirmeç Primary School) and teachers Dilan Özdemir, Sevin Kılıç, Şeymanur Toplu, and Ebubekir Yavuz, expressing his hope that their collaboration would continue in the future.
